British Academy Television Awards

British Academy Television Awards is a British Television Award which is awarded since 1955, similar to the U.S. television Emmy Award.

Background

Except for the International Award and Audience Award, the majority of the more than 20 categories is reserved solely for British television productions (including movies, series, documentaries ). They are usually awarded annually in May / June. Sponsor is the electronics group Philips, which is why the TV award officially renamed as Philips British Academy Television Awards.
