Broken Social Scene

Broken Social Scene is a Canadian founded in 1999, indie rock band from Toronto.

History

Core members are Kevin Drew of K. C. Accidental and Brendan Canning, the 2001, the band's debut album, Feel good lost, brought out. It was an almost entirely instrumental post-rock album.

In the following years she gathered several musicians in the Canadian music scene around him, including Leslie Feist, and finally published in the fall of 2002 as a group of eleven You forgot it in people. This critically acclaimed album also meant the commercial breakthrough of the band. It won the 2003 Juno Award for a best alternative album.

You forgot it in people sounds completely different from its predecessor, the place of the instrumental post-rock are varied, experimental, yet catchy pop songs entered in their own way.

In Germany, the plates appear on the label City Slang. The latest album Forgiveness rock record was released on 4 May 2010. Album has been produced by John McEntire in Chicago and Toronto. As guests befriended bands like Stars, Metric, The Sea And Cake and The Weakerthans are also represented on the album.
