Brooke Fraser

Brooke Fraser Ligertwood Gabrielle (* December 15, 1983 in Wellington, New Zealand) is a New Zealand Pop-/Folk-Sängerin and songwriter.

Career

Brooke Fraser is the eldest of three children of former New Zealand rugby international's Bernie Fraser and his wife Lynda. She grew up in the Wellington region in Naenae, a suburb of Lower Hutt. Between her seventh and seventeen she took piano lessons and began writing songs at age 12 and taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 16. She got a record deal with 18.

Her breakthrough came in the summer of 2003 with the song Better, which reached # 3 on the charts in their homeland. The following debut album What to Do with Daylight rose in November of the same year a No. 1 on the New Zealand album charts and stayed for over a year in the hit list. In 2004 she moved to Sydney, where she began to get involved in the Hillsong Church. With her ​​second album Albertine she was able to continue seamlessly in 2006 at their first success. It also reached # 1 and stayed 52 weeks in the charts and Deciphering Me had her second top 5 hit single. Then this album was released in 2007 in Australia and a year later even in the U.S.. There it reached # 3 in the Christian album and number 90 on the Billboard 200

On 17 March 2008 she married Scott Ligertwood and it took its name. For her career at Sony BMG she maintained her stage name Brooke Fraser.

In August 2010, published Brooke Fraser in the lead on their third album, the song Something in the Water. So they brought it the first time at No. 1 on the singles charts in New Zealand. The album Flags followed in October on the top position and also reached # 3 in Australia and in the USA 4th place in the folk charts, where it was this time arranged.

In spring 2011, Something appeared in the Water in Europe. Especially in German-speaking countries the song was successful, reaching there top ten rankings. In Germany it even reached gold status. Then the album flags came into the charts and climbed into the Top Ten.
