Brösarp

Brösarps is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Skåne County and the historical province Scania. He belongs to the municipality Tomelilla.

Location

The village has 680 inhabitants (as of 2010 ) and is located in the eastern part of Scania, the sterlen, near the Baltic Sea coast east of the town situated. West of the town runs the Riksväg 19, from south to north Ystad located Kristianstad. Due to the local situation Brösarps leads the Riksväg 9, which follows from here to the south of the Baltic Sea coast. Tomelilla, the main town of the municipality lies southwest Brösarps. In the vicinity of the town there is a hill landscape Brösarps backar.

North of the town there is the Brösarps station, which serves after the closure of the railway line in 1971 as an operating station of the standard gauge heritage railway Skåne Järnvägar. In the village is the church of Brösarps. About six kilometers southwest of Brösarp the waterfall Hallamölla.

Personalities

In Brösarps the Swedish engineer and government officials Olof Hörmander died ( 1923-2010 ).

The Swedish educator and in the revivalist movement active Jons Kullman Nilsson (1815-1895) worked from 1845 in Brösarps as a teacher. The football player John Hopf (* 1987) began his career in Brösarp. The glass artist Elna Melusine Jolom (* 1980) operates since 2010 in place a studio. Another resident in Brösarps artists of the Dutch sculptor and artist Gert Germeraad 's (* 1959) to name a few.
