Broughton -in- Furness is a village on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. The village belonged until 1974 to Lancashire and then came through the Local Government Act to Cumbria.

The place is mentioned in the Doomsday Book as belonging to the possession of Tostig Godwinson. The place became a trading center for agricultural products and fish from the region.

In 1810 an obelisk in the central square to commemorate the 25 -year Jubilee of George III. built.

1859 Broughton -in-Furness has been connected by the Coniston branch of the Furness Railway at the railway. The station was closed down in 1958 when the railway line was discontinued. The nearest train station is since 3 km in Foxfield on the Furness Line.
