Furness Line

The Furness Line is a railway line in North West England, which runs from Barrow-in- Furness via Ulverston and Grange-over -Sands. At Carnforth Railway line has a connection to the West Coast Main Line and is continued north of Barrow in the Cumbrian Coast Line.

A side road that branched in Ulverston to Lakeside, is now operated after closure in 1965 by the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway as a heritage railway.

The train services are operated between Barrow -in- Furness via Carnforth to Lancaster and Manchester from TransPennine Express. Further connections between Lancaster and Barrow with continued towards Carlisle via the Cumbrian Coast Line are operated by Northern Rail.
