River Kent

The River Kent is a river in Cumbria, England. The Kent has its origin in the mountains above the Kentmere Kentmere reservoir. In its upper reaches, the river flows through the Lake District National Park.

The river Kent flowing through the towns of Kentmere, Staveley, Burneside, Kendal and Sedgwick. For Sedgwick, the river passes through a gorge that has a series of rapids and small waterfalls, which makes the section at kayakers after heavy rains popular.

After a distance of 32 km of Kent opens at Arnside in Morecambe Bay. At spring tides it is possible to observe a tidal wave in Kent at Arnside.
