The breaking Weather is a small river by the Bleckeder Elbmarsch. It begins in Bleckede, flows parallel to the River Elbe and joins south of Echem in the Old Neetze. A shading is only locally present. The waters verkrautet strong and has a very low flow rate. In Ahren shoulder of the river is widened to a long lake.

The breaking Weather situated within the conservation area "March hooves landscape between march and breaking weather". The river length is 17.6 kilometers.

The clear, and initially developed grave -like fracture weather is already covered at the beginning completely with water plants. Of these, the Common Water Star ( Callitriche palustris) is frequent. Yellow pond lily (Nuphar lutea) and arrowhead ( Sagittaria sagittifolia ) often grow. Overall, the flow shows a heterogeneous species-rich vegetation. A powerful sapropel layer with oxidation skin covering the sole. Various snails and water beetles, and red midge larvae of Chironomus thummi group are the dominant species of macrozoobenthos.

The water quality of the fracture weather has Class II -III ( critically polluted )
