Bruckgut (Münchenstein)

The mansion is on the right Bruckgut Birsufer, north from the upper village in Munich stone ( in the area Birseck ), Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland. The farm Bruckgut and the barn are on the left bank.

Location

The property is located in the Bruckgut Münchensteinerstrasse Birsebene. History

First was a walled estate, a house with a gable roof in the place of Bruck good. The private residence was built Bruckgut for the Basel manufacturers Markus Weiss - Leissler (1696-1768) in 1758. The farm Bruckgut was built in 1888, but not in the typical style of a Baselbieter farmhouse, at the house and stables form a tract. The builder and owner of the farm, Carl Geigy, has brought the basic idea of its construction from Norway. In Norwegian manors yard and stables are grouped around a courtyard, the house occupies a separate place. In the yard, two large fires have occurred. The first fire happened burned as the Bruckgut barn in 1931, and in 1992 burned the barn for a second time. The vaulted cellar of Bruckgut was rebuilt in 2006 to a wine cellar. Previously, the basement served as a storage location for beets.

Architecture

The mansion Bruckgut is the work of architect Samuel Werenfels ( 1720-1800 ). Werenfels was given the task reuse the old gabled house and build a wide face side facing the street. In addition, there was a northward, at right angles, directed blades. The northern edge is wider than the southern because Werenfels latter took over from the old building. Deferred and laterally from the utilitarian to open a larger yard in front of a doppelgiebeligen main building. The arrangement and distribution of the main facade corresponds to the French model. In the center is a three-axis input section. On the street facade is a smart portal with the Rocaille at the apex of the flat door arch. ( Set up as a summer house ) inside the side of the spacious entrance hall, the rooms are arranged. On the first floor, accessible from the stair tower, the rooms are smaller than the lower level. In the hall are very obviously the ceiling with rococo stucco, by Caspar Messler, as well as the wall niche fountain, the tambour -like cabinets and the paintings above the doors ( lintels ). To the right of the hall is the living room, with a stucco ceiling and a fireplace in the Louis XV style. The dining room is on the left side and is similarly equipped.

The upper floor of the southern part are the two Chinese dining room. The small Chinese dining room with oilcloth wallpaper manufactory JJ Nothnagel (Frankfurt) probably from 1761. On a richly framed Panneaux are shown various Chinese sceneries. In the great Chinese dining room walls with wallpaper in oil on canvas are covered. These come from a factory in Frankfurt and it is here a continuous image sequences with Chinese motifs.

In the northern wing is the large corner room that is equipped with a tower-like tiled stove. The corner room has corner cabinets and a large mirror.
