The Rotwandlspitze is 2191m above sea level. A., according to other sources 2193 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Karwendel on the border between Germany (Bavaria) and Austria ( Tyrol). It forms a double peak with the 2180 m above sea level. A. high fountain stone top.

Location

The Rotwandlspitze located on the southwestern end of the Northern Karwendel chain that separates the Bavarian Isar Valley in the West by the Austrian Karwendeltal in the southeast. The closest villages are situated two kilometers southwest and northwest Scharnitz Mittenwald. Upstream 150 meters southwest of the fountain stone point, even Brunnstein tip or cross is Paris ( 2180 m above sea level. A. ), after which the Brunnsteinhütte is named. So far, the state border from the north follows the ridge line of the Northern Karwendel chain continues to pass through the western flank by the March gorge towards the fortification Porta Claudia.

About 150 meters northeast of the Rotwandlspitze is located on a small hill called on the Blanken ( 2153 m above sea level. A. ) the Tyrolean hut, which has been closed since 2004. Next, the ridge line is about the Fountain Stone Anger ( 2096 m above sea level. A. ) to 2301 m above sea level. A. high Kirchlspitze continued.

Increases

A marked path leads from Scharnitz, following the ridge lines for which 1924 m above sea level. A. high fountain stone fountain head and the stone to its peak ( UIAA I). Another, albeit dilapidated road from Scharnitz runs east through the south-eastern flank of the mountain on the Pürzlbrünste directly to Rotwandlspitze. From the west, the mountain is on a partially insured trail to reach across the Brunnsteinhütte and the Fountain Stone Anger ( fountain Steinweg ).
