Bruno Mantovani

Bruno Mantovani ( born October 8, 1974 in Châtillon ) is a French composer. Since August 2010 he has been director of the Paris Conservatoire.

Mantovani studied piano, percussion and jazz at the conservatory of Perpignan and attended from 1993, the Conservatoire de Paris, where he earned five first prizes. He then studied at the University of Rouen musicology with Guy Reibel and took courses in computer science from 1998 to 1999 and Instrumentation at IRCAM.

Mantovani worked with the ensemble TM , alternance and together since 2001 the Ensemble Intercontemporain, for which he also wrote compositions. For Concerto for violin and Turbulences 1999 he received the first prize in the composition competition of the city of Stuttgart, for D'un rêve parti 2001 Gaudeamus in Amsterdam. In 1997 he received a composition fellowship from the Académie des Beaux -Arts in 1999, a fellowship from the Fondation Nadia et Lili Boulanger and 2000 the Prix Hervé Dugardin the SACAM. 2007 Mantovani was awarded the Belmont Prize for Contemporary Music, 2009 entitled Compositeur de l' année ( Composer of the Year ), 2010 with the price of the international music press. Also in 2010, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, he was awarded.
