Bruno Pires

Portugal Portuguese Champion - Road Race 2006

Bruno Pires (born 15 May 1981) is a Portuguese cyclist. He is 1.74 meters tall, his racing weight is 63 kg. He has his strengths, especially in the mountains and can already point to some successes in smaller races on this terrain, especially in his home country.

Bruno Pires began his career in 2002 with the cycling team ASC -Vila do Conde. From 2004 he drove for the Portuguese Continental Team Maia Milaneza. In 2005 he was once a stage Volta ao Alentejo in the second and was able to finish the tour on the fourth overall. In Asturias Tour he finished fifth in the overall standings. A year later, Pires secured the national road championship title. The Troféu Joaquim Agostinho he finished as runner-up and at the Portugal tour he was seventh. After another station in his home at Barbot - Siper Pires dared the leap into the 2011 UCI World Tour and signed a contract with Leopard Trek. In 2012 he then joined on the Team Saxo Bank. He should be working as a helper in stages or hilly one-day races, but also go on their own account.

Pires started his 2012 season for Saxo Bank in early February as part of the Mallorca Challenge, where he stood at the Trofeo Migjorn and the Trofeo Deia at the start.
