Bruno Souza (handballer)

Bruno Bezerra de Menezes Souza (* June 27, 1977 in Niterói ) is a former Brazilian handball player.

Career

Souza played in the Handball - Bundesliga and stood at Frisch Auf Göppingen and HSV Hamburg under contract. With the HSV he won the 2007 European Cup Winners' Cup. In summer 2008, he joined the Spanish climber BM Alcobendas. As Alcobendas during the 2008 /09 season had financial problems, Souza left the club. He then signed a contract with the French club HBC Nantes. In summer 2010, Souza finished his career there at first; from April 2011 to end of the season he was back on the squad of Nantes.

With the Brazilian national team, he won the Pan Games 2007. In the final against Argentina Bruno Souza scored nine goals. He participated in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in part, scoring 16 goals in 5 games.
