The Brunswick River (German: ' Brunswick River ' ) is a river in south-west of the Australian state of Western Australia.

Geography

The river rises on the southern slopes of the Darling Range. From there, it flows southwest through the city of Brunswick Junction and on to Australind, where it flows into the Collie River.

History

The river was in 1830, named by Governor James Stirling to Ernest Augustus I, King of Hanover and Duke of Brunswick- Lüneburg. The king was 1813 passenger HMS Brazen, on the Stirling was captain.

The other names and titles of the king were processed partly in the tributaries of the Brunswick River, so the Ernest River (German: ' Ernst- flow '), the Augustus River ( dt ' August- flow ') and the Lunenburgh River ( dt: ' Lüneburg- river' ).
