Brutus Beefcake
Edward Harrison "Ed" Leslie (* April 21, 1957 in Tampa, Florida ) is an American professional wrestler. He became known in the World Wrestling Federation under the name Brutus " The Barber " Beefcake and later in WCW as The Butcher, Zodiak and The Disciple.
Career
National Wrestling Alliance
Leslie began his career in 1977 under the name Eddie Boulder Dizzy Hogan and as a team partner of his good friend Hulk Hogan. In the early 1980s he made sporadic appearances for the World Wrestling Federation and entered in Bill Watts ' Mid - South region. Also in 1980 he received along with Robert Fuller for the first time the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship title, which he with Ken Lucas still should get two times in 1983.
World Wrestling Federation
In 1984 he moved to the then World Wrestling Federation (now WWE). There he was given the name Brutus Beefcake. He took this year also at the first WrestleMania in part, as an opponent of David Sammartino, son of Bruno Sammartino.
1985 Leslie made with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, the Tag Team Dream Team. Together they won on 24 August 1985, the WWF Tag Team Championship from Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham. The title they gave at Wrestlemania II at The British Bulldogs ( Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid) .. from 1987, separated the Dream Team. On the same evening ( Wrestlemania III) the gimmick of the Barber (English barber ), born as Leslie cut off the hair of Adrian Adonis.
Leslie and Hulk Hogan came this year against Randy Savage and Zeus in a Steel Cage match at. This match was mainly intended as a promotion for Hogan's movie The Hammer ( No Holds Barred ), in which it was also shown.
At the Royal Rumble in 1990 Leslie began a feud with Mr. Perfect for the Intercontinental Championship, which was to culminate at SummerSlam. But a few days before Leslie was injured so badly that it almost cost him his life in a paragliding accident. A paraglider is said to have hit him in the face, which led to Leslie's skull had to be addressed with a hundred steel plates. Thus he had to pause until 1993.
In this year he returned to the ring, where he was attacked by Money Inc. ( Ted DiBiase and Irvin R. Shyster ). The result was a match for the WWF Tag Team Championship, which he contested as Mega Maniacs along with Hulk Hogan, who therefore made a comeback.
World Championship Wrestling
After the King of the Ring 1993 Hogan left the WWF in the direction of World Championship Wrestling, where he was succeeded by Leslie. Since the rights to the gimmick of Brutus " The Barber " Beefcake were in the WWF, Leslie initially called Brother Bruti, later The Butcher and Zodiac. But none of the gimmicks arrived at the fans. Therefore, the gimmick of the Booty Man was created, which was closely modeled on his Brutus " The Barber " Beefcake gimmick for him. In 1996, after the founding of the nWo left WCW Leslie, but returned in 1998, bearded and wearing sunglasses, at the Hogan's side, who had two years previously beaten him yet (according to storyline ), as the Disciple (English followers, disciples ) back. This Disciple wrestlelte not, but reached only at Hogans matches one in its favor. However, when the Ultimate Warrior came in WCW, you then put this as Leslie defector to the side. Since then, Leslie occurs again and again in the independent scene. Besides, he took a job as a ticket seller in a subway.

- Leslie is private close friend of Hulk Hogan. In the broadcast Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling, he was one of the coaches of the prominent participants.
- He now works as a manager of a gym.
- Leslie has himself once auctioned on eBay.
- He was addicted to cocaine, but made a withdrawal.
