Buffalo Tom

Buffalo Tom is an American alternative rock band. It was founded in 1986 by Bill Janovitz, Tom Maginnis and Chris Colburne in Boston.

With their garagigen and harsh guitar sound they are next to Dinosaur Jr. important representatives of U.S. college rock and have created their own sound and genuine sound.

The debut album was produced by J. Mascis under the working title " Buffalo Tom", which also derives the name of the band and why the band was long considered little brother of Dinosaur Jr. and was referred to as Dinosaur Jr Jr.

By 1992, Buffalo Tom have already recorded several tour successes, including in Europe. With the change of Beggars Banquet Records to RCA and the album " Let Me Come Over " the reputation of the band began to rise in professional circles. Although particular " Taillights Fade" was played at various alternative radio stations as a powerful ballad always remained out of financial success.

And by far the most successful plate provided with Buffalo Tom " Sleepy - Eyed " from which was included in Dreamland, a converted church in Woodstock. Since the late 90s rests the work of the band, although she has never officially disbanded and occasionally surprised the trio with one or the other live concert.

In July 2007, she published after almost ten years of their new album "Three Easy Pieces". Launched by the press and the fans acclaimed album is a "typical" Buffalo Tom album. Much of what this band is distinguished, was summarized again in this album.

Particularly well known they were by the 12th episode of the series Welcome to life, in which they give a concert and her song Late at Night serves as a soundtrack in the final scene.
