The Büttgen Station is now an S- Bahn stop the train station category 5 on the railway line Mönchengladbach- Dusseldorf.

Location

The breakpoint is located in the center of the city Kaarster part Büttgen. It is the amusing lines here to the traffic hub of Büttgen as well as the most important stop for travelers in Kaarst direction Mönchengladbach. Furthermore, the breakpoint has an important function for the student movement, as many students of Community Secondary School Büttgen from the environment, mostly from Neuss to come.

History

The Büttgen station was built at the insistence of Büttgener mayor of the Aachen- Dusseldorf - Ruhrorter Railway Company 1868. After the construction of the station there were repeated complaints from citizens that the rail link would be unattractive; these complaints were down more and more and at the latest after the First World War, the station was also viewed by the residents as part of Büttgen. Following the with effect from 1 January 1975 incorporation of the community into the church Büttgen Kaarst (since 1981 city Kaarst ) the name of the station was not changed.

With the introduction of the line S 8 S-Bahn Rhein- Ruhr, the station was converted to a breakpoint.
