Buzău County

Buzău [ buzəu̯ ] is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in the Walachia region, with the county seat of Buzău. The license plate number and the common abbreviation for the circle is BZ.

The circle Buzău bordered on the north and northeast by the Vrancea County, on the east by the county Braila, on the south by the county Ialomiţa the west by the Prahova County and to the northwest by the circles Brasov and Covasna.

Demography

In 2002, the county 494 982 inhabitants and a population density of 81 inhabitants per km ².

Geography

The county has a total area of ​​6103 km ², representing 2.6 % of the area of Romania. The landscape rises from the southeast of the circle - the Wallachian Plain ( Câmpia Română) - on the moorland and hills with orchards and vineyards to the north- west to the Bozauer Mountains ( Munţii Buzăului ).
