The Buzi is a river in Zimbabwe, which rises in Chipinge and only 20 km to the south to Mozambique, then thence north- east flows to Goonda and from there through a flat plain to the east of the city of Sofala, where he north of the town, near the mouth the Pungwe, empties into the Mozambique Channel.
The Buzi is like the Save or the Pungwe highly dependent on rainfall. In the rainy season the level of these rivers may rise by seven meters and cause mainly in the plane of Gaza Province in Mozambique catastrophic floods, in which people for days just have to sit on the trees.
