Buzz Demling

Arthur 'Buzz' Demling ( born September 21, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is a former American football player. For the national team of the United States, he played 1973-1975 four internationals. With the U.S. team he took to the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich in part. His brother Mark Demling was also professional football players.

Career

Demling grew up in St. Louis, where he attended Saint Louis University High School. After high school, he attended Michigan State University, 1970, he was selected by the NCAA in the American team of the year.

Demlings first professional station were 1973, the St. Louis Stars in the North American professional league NASL. He remained there, however, only a year and graduated in 1974 the San Jose Earthquakes at, for which he spent five years at active. In 97 games the defender scored a goal. Demling left the NASL in 1978 and moved to the Indoor Football League Major Indoor Soccer League for the Cincinnati Kids. His career ended in 1981 after two years at San Francisco Fog.

National

Demling represented the USA at the Olympic Games in 1972. During the first game, the U.S. reached a 0-0 draw with Morocco, in the second group match they lost Malaysia 0-3 in the last game, there was a 0:7 defeat against the Federal Republic of Germany.

A total of four times 1973-1975 Demling came into the U.S. national team for use. He made his debut on 12 August 1973 a 1-0 win against Poland. In 1974, he played one time, twice in 1975 for the U.S.. In his final game on March 26, 1975, the opponent was again Poland, this time with the American team defeated 0:7.
