BWO (band)

Bodies Without Organs ( BWO also ) is a Swedish pop band.

Band History

BWO consists of the singer Martin Rolinski, who was recruited by the producers as part of a talent competition, keyboardist Marina Schiptjenko ( formerly of Vacuum) and music producer Alexander Bard ( formerly of Army of Lovers, Vacuum and Alcazar, currently at Gravitonas ). Originally, Jean -Pierre Barda from Army of Lovers fourth member of the band, but because he did not fit into the concept of the live band, he appeared only in the first two videos in guest appearances on. The band was from Bard and Anders Hansson, a successful producer ( Christina Aguilera ), launched in late 2003 to life, already repeatedly written since the mid- 90s songs together and produced. You probably also marked the definitive end to the cooperation between different Wollbeck and Alexander Bard, who were responsible as a songwriter duo for most hits by Army of Lovers, Vacuum and the first Alcazaralbums. The debut album Prototype was released in Germany in summer 2005. The band, especially in her native Sweden, Russia and the European gay scene is known. Both the first ( and only ) single and the album had little success in Germany. In Sweden, however, the band received gold awards for their albums and had several top ten placings in the charts.

In 2005, the group participated in the Euro Vision Song Contest on Melodifestivalen, the Swedish Trials. She retired from but in advance. In 2006, she reached there with Temple of Love second place, the song stood for weeks at number 1 of the Swedish sales charts. They also won in 2006 a Swedish Grammy for " best pop group of the year". In September 2006, a new record company took over the marketing of some Scandinavian countries and applied the band in the UK, making the single " Chariots of Fire" went into the club charts.

2008 Bodies Without Organs again took part in the Melodifestivalen, but missed again the ticket to the Euro Vision Song Contest, their song " Lay Your Love On Me" finished third. On 28 May 2008 "Barcelona" was released as a 10 -track maxi-CD in Sweden. In Sweden, was published on August 2, 2008, the single "The Bells of Freedom ," the official anthem of EURO PRIDE in Stockholm 2008.

In February / March 2009 BWO took again the Swedish Melodifestivalen qualifying round for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2009 part not reached with the ballad " You're not alone ," but the final. " You're not Alone " was released as a single on 28 February 2009.
