Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh

The archeparchy Pittsburgh (Latin: Pittsburgensis rite Byzantine ) is a located in the United States Eparchy of the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church, headquartered in Pittsburgh.

On May 8, 1924, Pope Pius XI. the Exarchate of the United States of America, True to the Eastern Rite ( Ruthenian ). The Exarchate was July 6, 1963 the status of an eparchy and was raised on February 21, 1969 in archeparchy of Munhall. On March 11, 1977, the name was changed to archeparchy of Pittsburgh. 1983 territories were ceded to the Eparchy of Van Nuys.

The field of archeparchy Pittsburgh includes the states of Ohio ( eastern part), Oklahoma, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.
