C.D. Costa do Sol

The Clube de Desportos there, often abbreviated to Costa do Sol, Costa do Sol, is a sports club based in Maputo, capital of Mozambique. The club was founded in 1955 in line with the Lisbon SL Benfica under the name Lourenço Marques Sport e Benfica and received its present name in 1978.

Due to the yellow since the name change jerseys of Association and its members are sometimes called Canarinhos, Kanarienvögelchen. Costa do Sol won his first championship in Mozambique in 1979. By 2007, followed by seven more championships and ten successes in the cup competition.

Besides football there in the club, which is located in the northern area Polana Canico, yet departments for roller hockey, handball, athletics, swimming, volleyball and basketball. The club also won numerous titles in these sports.
