ÄŒabalovce

Čabalovce ( russinisch Чабалівці / Tschabaliwzi; Hungarian Csabaháza - to 1902 Csabalóc ) is a municipality in Laboretzer Bergland ( Laborecká Highlands ) in the north eastern Slovakia.

To Čabalovce heard the southeast subsequent district Sterkovce, which was incorporated in 1877 and up to 1900 as Csabalóc és Sterkóc formed a double place.

The municipality is located six kilometers southeast of the county town of Medzilaborce at the foot of the Carpathian mountains main ridge, which forms the border between Slovakia and Poland here. The Łupkowpass ( line Michalovce - Humenné - Medzilaborce - Sanok ) is only five kilometers from Čabalovce. The pass is considered the dividing line between the Carpathians parts Low Beskids and Bukovské Hills / Bieszczady.

By Čabalovce the approximately 40 -kilometer-long main street of Medzilaborce leads to Snina that crosses along the way at the foot of the hills along several river valleys.

The place was first mentioned in 1494 as Chabaloch writing. 1741 was the Greek Catholic Church in baroque style.

The population remained stable between 2001 and 2007. The population Čabalovces consists of 45% of Slovaks, 43 % of residents are Russian women. 69 % of the population profess the Greek - Catholic Church, about 23 % belong to any denomination.
