Caio César Alves dos Santos (born 29 May 1986 as Mirandopolis, São Paulo), better known as Caio, is a Brazilian footballer.
Career
He comes from the youth of Grêmio Recreativo Barueri. From there he was awarded to Guarani FC, Sport Club Internacional SE Palmeiras and. In December 2007, SE Palmeiras acquired half of the transfer rights to Caio. In January 2008, he was sold to Eintracht Frankfurt. He signed a contract until June 30, 2012 without exit clauses. The transfer fee was estimated 3.5 to 4 million euros.
In his second Test match, in which he played a half against the Wehen he in the 67th minute scoring his first goal for Eintracht Frankfurt. His league debut came on 16 February 2008 when he came on against Hansa Rostock in 83 minutes for Michael Fink. His first Bundesliga goal he scored in his third game: Against Energie Cottbus he met on 20 March 2008 in the 59th minute. At the start of season 2008/ 09 he moved to the displeasure of the club officers, as he probably had to drop significantly too early performance tests to determine the lactate and fitness values because of its visible overweight, ahead of his teammate Faton Toski. Also the fitness test at the beginning of the winter break of the 2008/ 09 did not exist Caio. Despite the constant doubt as to his physical condition, he came under his last coach Michael Skibbe frequently used. A regular place but he could not fight for themselves. After a short season for Atlético Goianiense, Caio signed in July 2013 at the Grasshopper Club Zurich a contract until 2016 in the Swiss Super League.
