The Calawah River is a river in Clallam County on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The 50-kilometer Calawah River consists of two arms which flow together in Forks. The southern arm rises on the southern slopes of the Rugged Ridge, a spur of the Olympic Mountains and flows westwards over numerous rapids through the Hoh Rainforest. His most important tributary is the Sitkum River, which is fed by streams from the north side of the Rugged Ridge. The northern arm is fed by numerous source streams and flows southwest through the Olympic National Forest, until the two arms flow about eight kilometers east of Forks together. About five kilometers west of Forks opens the Calawah in the Bogachiel River, which in turn flows into the Quillayute River. The name comes from the language of Calawah Quileute means " middle river ", which refers to the position of the flux between the Sol Duc and Bogachiel.
