California State Route 14

The California State Route 14 (abbreviated CA 14) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California, which runs in a north -south direction.

The State Route begins at Interstate 5 near Santa Clarita and ends on U.S. Highway 395 near Inyokern It runs through the Mojave Desert and is therefore known as the High Desert. Together with the U.S. 395 connects the the Greater Los Angeles Area with great places like Reno. While the southern portion of the road passes through rural canyons and suburbs, the northern section provides a good view of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Partial State Route runs through desert -like area and especially around Mojave through very sparsely populated area.

On October 13, 2007, there was a serious accident with multiple deaths and injuries on the Newhall Pass Interchange with Interstate 5 The accident site was about 48 km north of the city of Los Angeles, in an approximately 170 m long bypass tunnel for trucks.
