Call to Arms (Saxon album)
Call to Arms is the 19th studio album by the British heavy metal band Saxon. It was published in June 2011 by the following labels Militia Guard Music, UDR and EMI.
History
The album was recorded in early 2011. Here, in February Fans were invited into the studio to record backing vocals for the track back in '79. Biff Byford frontman claimed that the band wanted to go with the album more "back to the roots". The sound should more to the "working class" sound. Since the recordings delayed somewhat, the band had to cancel an appearance on the Australian Soundwave Festival. Don Airey, currently active in Deep Purple, made a guest appearance on the album.
Reception
The website Allmusic.com awarded 3.5 out of 5 stars. Eduardo Rivadavia compared the album Denim & Leather in 1981 and called this the " most closely related cousin ".
