Calore Lucano

The Calore Lucano is a river in southwestern Italy.

Geography

The river rises in the high mountains of Cilento, near the Cervati. It flows in the area of the mountain initially in a northerly direction past the communities Laurino, Felitto, Aquara and Castelcivita. In the plain of the Sele he then heads west for a while parallel to the Sele, and then to unite around 5 kilometers from the mouth of the Sele in the Tyrrhenian Sea with him.

Hydrology

The water of the Calore Lucano comes in part from the source, further numerous tributaries feed the river, most of which also arise from the northern part of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano. The average amount of water in this river is 29.30 cubic meters per second.
