Camelford ( Cornish: Ryskammel ) is a city in the former North Cornwall District in the county of Cornwall in England with 2256 inhabitants.

In 1988, one of the toughest drinking water contamination occurred in the history of Britain, came in highly corrosive chemicals into the water supply. The aluminum sulfate content of the water exceeded the permissible limits as a result by 5000 times.
