Production

The filming of the series took place in Ireland from June to July 2010 at the County Wicklow. The post-production as well as the visual effects were done in a Canadian studio. The first ten episodes of Camelot had to follow more seasons, but the show had 2011 compared to the much more successful fantasy series Game of Thrones clearly at a disadvantage. The production cost of seven million dollars per episode bore no relation to the declining viewership. That is why the series was canceled after only one season.

So wrote Time Magazine, the series was exceedingly silly ( very silly German ), while the magazine "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette " wrote that the series is dull and talky and its first three episodes offer few surprises in storytelling.
