Cameron Sharp

Cameron Sharp ( Robert Cameron Sharp, born June 3, 1958 in Ayrshire ) is a former British sprinter.

In 1978 he won at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton with the Scottish team in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Prague, he came up with the British 4 x 100 -meter relay race to sixth place.

At the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 he finished seventh over 100 m and reached about 200 m the semi-finals. In the 4 x 100 - meter relay team he finished with the British quartet to fourth place.

In 1982 he won at the European Championships in Athens silver over 200 meters and was fourth on 100 m. At the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane bronze medals followed about 100 m, 200 m and the 4 x 100 - meter relay. At the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki, he left about 100 m and 200 m in the semifinals.

At the World Indoor Games in Paris in 1985, he was sixth over 60 m. His last major international success was the bronze medal, which he won in 1986 with the Scottish 4 x 100 -meter relay at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

In 1982 he became English Champion over 100 meters and 1980 English Indoor Champion over 60 m. The British Masters title he won in 1980 and 1981 over 100 m and 1980 m 200. In 1982 he became Scottish champion over 200 meters and 1987 over 100 m.

Since 1983, he is married to a middle distance runner Carol (nee Lightfoot ). Their daughter Lynsey Sharp 2012 was European champion over 800 m.
