Campelos is a small town (pt: Vila ) in the county Torres Vedras, 80 km north of Lisbon. 24.3 km ² live 2811 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011). The population density is 115.9 inh. / Km ².

History

Campelos is one of the youngest towns, it was not founded until 1945. Until then, it was a district of Santa Maria do Castelo de Torres Vedras ( Deutsch.: Holy Mary of the Castle of Torres Vedras ). Early 20th century, a significant development was initiated: First, the construction of the church of Santo António (1910 ), the construction of the primary school (1949 ), later running water and electricity (1968).

After many efforts and endeavors of the population, including through community service, Campelos in 1995 to the small town.
