Cannon God Exaxxion

Exaxxion (Subtitles The Cannon God) is a science fiction mecha manga by Kenichi Sonoda to the subscriber. The first edition was released in 1998 in Japan.

Action

Exaxxion depicts the invasion of a powerful alien race. Scene of the action is Japan. Main character of the story is Hoichi Kano, a typical Japanese schoolboy.

For ten years living the Faldianer, interstellar visitors, peacefully with humans on Earth. But the peace is deceptive, the aliens seek from the outset for power over the earth. Through a clever ploy the Faldianer can transport an invincible fighting robots on the ground. This works with secret technologies, such as with anti-gravity. The Faldianer take over the violence and tell the people their slaves. Install a ruthless colonial rule, which can not stand in his way, without dying.

Hoichis grandfather, who brilliantly mad scientist Hosuke Kano has long warned the Faldianern. Now he wants to expel the invaders from Earth. He has by chance, discovered in his research, the secret techniques of Faldianer - and he has a giant robot: The so-called XXX unit that works with antimatter and antigravity. In the Japanese tradition, the mecha series XXX - unit requires a human pilot. The scientist wants his grandson takes over this job.

After the seizure of power Faldianer Hoichi is admitted to his new role as a mecha pilot. In support he still gets a special battle suit and a generously proportioned android named Isaka. Isaka occurs most often as a school girl on, but by transforming it can also assume any other shape.

The Faldianer are appalled that anyone has on the earth about their techniques. You use all means to bring the XXX unit in their possession - or if necessary, to destroy. There ensues a lossy war that will be decided only in the vastness of space.

Publications

The manga was published from August 1997 to May 2004 in the magazine Afternoon of the publisher Kodansha in Japan. The individual chapters also appeared in seven anthologies.

In the U.S. Exaxxion appeared as a five -volume edition by Dark Horse Comics. The French edition appeared in Glénat, Polish at Egmont Polska.

The German version was published from 2002 to 2005 in Egmont Manga & Anime in paperback in seven volumes. The Japanese reading direction was not preserved, the pages are mirrored by Western orientation.

Awards

The manga was nominated in 2005 for the Seiun price.
