Canton of Bischheim

The Canton Bischheim is a further breakdown of the Strasbourg- Campagne arrondissement in the department of Bas- Rhin in Alsace region of France.

History

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Strasbourg ".

With the establishment of the arrondissements on 17 February 1800 the canton was again cut as part of the former arrondissements Strasbourg.

From 1871 to 1919 there was no further breakdown of the then " circle Strasbourg (country ) ".

Since June 28, 1919 was the speaking part of the new arrondissements Strasbourg -Campagne.

Geography

The canton is bordered to the north by the Canton Mundolsheim and on the south by the Canton Schiltigheim.
