Cape Cornwall

Cape Cornwall ( Cornish: Kernow Pen ) is a narrow headland in Cornwall, United Kingdom. It is located about 6.7 km north of Land's End near St Just in Penwith.

The Atlantic Ocean is split by the cape in several bodies of water: to the north, we start the Bristol Channel and the Irish Sea and to the south of the English Channel. Previously it was the headland as the westernmost point of England, to exact measurements showed that Land's End is the most westerly point.

At Cape Cornwall there is a lookout point, a car park and public toilets for the tourists. The chimney on the tip of the promontory is a monument that commemorates the mining industry and the associated ore mining in the St Just Mining District. In the immediate neighborhood is the letcha mine whose chimney is about 800 southeast of Cape Cornwall to see. Many traces of the industrialization of the landscape have been preserved to this day, the area around St. Just is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2006 under special protection.
