Capitol Theater (Düsseldorf)

The Capitol Theatre is the largest theater in the North Rhine - Westphalian capital Dusseldorf.

History

Early 1990s is over 100 years old tram depot of the Rhine Bahn AG was converted into a theater and opened in 1996 with the premiere of the musical Grease. In 1999 the house was extensively renovated. The original brick architecture and character of the former depots remained unchanged.

Facts and Figures

The Capitol Theatre has a large hall ( 1140 m²) with 1131 seats and a "club" (630 m² ) with up to 475 seats (Dinner Seating: 300 seats, row seating: 475 seats). The foyer with around 1,500 sqm is divided into a lower and an upper foyer, a conservatory and five bars. The Capitol Theatre productions and guest performances are shown. In addition, numerous well-known companies have already used the theater as event location. Is operated the theater, as well as the Musical Dome in Cologne, the musical Starlight Express in Bochum, the Cats theater tent (including Luxembourg, Zurich, Oberhausen ), Bremen Musical Theatre and the Admiral Palace in Berlin ( since 15 June 2011) under the leadership of the group of companies more!
