Carlinhos Brown

Carlinhos Brown, in Spanish known as Carlito Marrón, actually Antônio Carlos Santos de Freitas ( born November 23, 1962 in Salvador da Bahia ) is a Brazilian musician and songwriter. He took his last name " Brown" in honor of the Black Panther H. Rap Brown and member of James Brown. His music is a mix of Brazilian and Caribbean music with elements of funk, rock and soul.

He was the founder and mentor of the band and carnival group Timbalada and can be heard as a guest vocalist and percussionist in the song Rattamahatta on the album Roots by the Brazilian metal band Sepultura.

In 2002 he founded with Arnaldo Antunes and Marisa Monte music group Tribalistas. The song Já Be Namorar landed in the Brazilian charts at number one, and also with a second song, Velha infância, he had great success. Outside of Brazil, he is very successful.

Appeared in 2007 's seventh studio album, A Gente Ainda Não Sonhou on Sony BMG and in Germany at Marburg Label Tropical Music. The CD contains 14 new recordings made in collaboration with Marisa Monte, Jaques Morel tree, Javier Limon and others.

On the occasion of the Football World Cup 2014 in Brazil, there are of Carlinhos Brown a current version of his title " Cade O Timbal " from 1994, which is marketed under the title " Timbaleiro ". Some websites say already, it states that it is the official World Cup anthem. In the trade, this version is not yet available and currently circulating on the internet video platform YouTube.
