Carlo Dolci

Carlo Dolci ( pron. dóltschi ) ( born May 25, 1616 Florence, † January 17, 1686 ) was an Italian painter of the Baroque.

Dolci came around 1625 as a pupil in the studio of Jacopo Vignali. According to his own statements Dolci was very influenced not only his teacher Vignali also of Agnolo Bronzino. Nevertheless, he had found to his own style.

1648 Dolci was taken from the Accademia dell'Arte del Disegno in Florence as a member. According to the rumors of contemporaries Dolci died, allegedly became melancholy in recent years because of the excellent Direction Remarks by Luca Giordano, on 17 January 1686, Florence.

His daughter Agnese († 1680) was his pupil and painted in its kind

During that time the superficial bravura painting was prevalent, he painted carefully with delicate colors sold. But the charm of the campy was the driving torque even at him; a bland sweetness, a sentimental expression characterize his devotional pictures, and to achieve a sculptural effect he believed the black shadow despite his otherwise harmonious coloring not being allowed to dispense.
