Carlo Minoretti

Cardinal Carlo Dalmazio Minoretti ( born September 17, 1861 in San Cogliate Dalmazio, Province of Monza and Brianza, Italy, † March 13, 1938 in Genoa) was Archbishop of Genoa.

Life

Carlo Dalmazio Minoretti studied at the seminary of Milan fan Catholic theology and philosophy. In 1884 he received the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked as a parish pastor in his home diocese before he was a lecturer at the Seminary of Monza in 1890. From 1907 to 1909 he taught at the seminary of Milan. In the years 1909-1915 he was a pastor in Milan.

1915 Pope Benedict XV appointed him. Bishop of Crema; He received his episcopal consecration in 1987 beatified Archbishop of Milan, Cardinal Andrea Carlo Ferrari. 1925 commissioned him to Pope Pius XI. with the management of the Archdiocese of Genoa. Carlo Dalmazio Minoretti was taken as cardinal priest with the titular church Sant'Eusebio in the College of Cardinals on 16 December 1929. He died on 13 March 1938 in Genoa and was buried in the local cathedral.
