Carlos Iván Beltrán ( born April 24, 1977 in Manati, Puerto Rico) is center fielder at the U.S. Baseball Club St. Louis Cardinals. His major league debut came on 14 September 1998 in the jersey of the Kansas City Royals, where he played until 2003, after he was drafted by the club in 1995 in the 2nd round.

In addition, he was already three times in a row ( 2004, 2005 and 2006), nominated for the MLB All- Star Game.

In game 2 of the playoffs against the Washington Nationals Beltrán get 2 homeruns. This was his third postseason game with more than one Homer. The other two each get 1 time for the New York Mets and the Houston Astros. He is the third player to reach this mark. 4 times Babe Ruth managed the feat (all in the World Series for the New York Yankees) and Manny Ramirez (2 for the Cleveland Indians and 1 time for the Boston Red Sox).

On December 19, 2013 Beltran signed a $ 45 million contract for 3 years with the New York Yankees.
