Carlos Franco

Carlos Franco ( born May 24, 1965 in Asunción ) is a Paraguayan professional golfer on the PGA TOUR. With 31 worldwide tournament victories, he is the most successful golfer of his country.

Career

He grew up in extreme poverty - the nine-member family had to share a room. His father worked as a greenkeeper and caddy in Asuncion.

In 1986, Franco professional golfer was and played successfully in South America, where he won a total of 21 tournament victories. He also recorded the Japan Golf Tour and won five titles there. On the Asian Tour, he managed a victory.

In autumn 1998 he qualified on the Q- School for the PGA TOUR, won in his first season, 1999, two events, and was the first freshman who could reach $ - season prize money over 1 million. To date, Franco has four wins are at Beech on the major North American tournament series.
