Carlos Salzedo
Carlos Salzedo ( born April 6, 1885 in Arcachon, France; † August 17, 1961 in Waterville, USA ) was a harpist and composer.
He studied at the conservatories of Bordeaux and Paris, harp and piano, and went in 1909 as a solo harpist of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. From 1924 he was professor of harp at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia.
Salzedo, who composed as a composer mainly for his own instrument was as a soloist and music educator one of the principal harpist of the 20th century.
