Carole Eastman

Carole Eastman ( born February 19, 1934 in Glendale, California, † 13 February 2004 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress and screenwriter.

Life

Carole Eastman, a younger sister of scriptwriter and director Charles Eastman, first worked as a ballerina and model before her acting debut in The pink mannequin in the movie 1957. After a few more roles in television series in 1966, she wrote her first screenplay for the film The Shooting.

After the screenplay for the film Puzzle of a Downfall Child ( 1970) she co-wrote with Bob Rafelson the screenplay for Five Easy Pieces - A man looking at himself and was in favor both for the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards in 1971 as well as for the Golden Globe Award for the best screenplay and the price of the Writers Guild of America nomination for best Original Screenplay. In 1992 she reunited with Rafelson and was scriptwriter, and producer on his film Man Trouble - Gone to the dogs.
