Carregado is a municipality in the district Alenquer Lisbon in Portugal. In the municipality of 11,208 inhabitants (as of 30 June 2011) on an area of 14.7 km ². The municipality was elevated to Vila (German town ) on 12 July 1997.
History
On Carregado station there was the terminus of the first Portuguese railway line which was opened on 28 October 1856 in Lisbon at Santa Apolonia train station.
Sports
The place is home to the football club Associação Desportiva do Carregado in Campo José Lacerda Pinto Barreiros Stadium.
