Carrel (crater)

Carrel is a small impact crater in Mare Tranquillitatis. By a slight bulge in the north-western edge, it offers a distorted appearance. Its interior is also decorated by irregular increases and abgerutschtes material. The crater covers a ridge in the surface of the Mare.
Before being renamed by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) in 1979, he was known as the Jansen B. The flooded by lava crater Jansen is located in the northeast.
