Carsten Hansen (politician)

Carsten Mogens Hansen ( born January 10, 1957 in Odense ) is a Danish politician Socialdemokraterne and was appointed on October 3, 2011 as the Minister of cities, housing and rural areas in the first government of Prime Minister Helle Thorning- Schmidt. In the government Thorning- Schmidt II, it is also responsible for Nordic cooperation.

Life

The son of a laborer and a domestic help completed post-school vocational training for heat, air conditioning and sanitary engineers, and subsequently worked as a mechanic, and since 1989 as a Master.

After running for the Socialdemokraterne 1995 unsuccessfully for a seat in the Folketing in the constituency Odense Sydkreds, he was first elected on 11 March 1998 in the constituency Funen Amtskreds for deputies to the Folketing. In 2006 he was promoted to chairman of his faction. In the general election in 2007, he successfully ran in the constituency Funen Stork Reds. On 1 October 2010 he was appointed for a four -year term as state auditor.

On October 3, 2010 him Prime Minister Helle Thorning -Schmidt called Minister for cities, housing and rural areas in their government. On February 3, 2014, he also received the responsibility for Nordic cooperation.

Hansen, who is also Vice- Chairman of the Workers' Educational Association ( Arbejdernes Oplysningsforbund ), is also involved on the board of Odense Technical School and the Nørre Aby Efterskole.
