Cassandra Potter

Cassandra " Cassie " Potter ( born October 30, 1981 in Bemidji, Minnesota, native Cassandra Johnson) is an American curler. In 2005 she won the silver medal at the World Championships with Team USA.

Potter grew up in the small town of Bemidji Curling enthusiastic and came at the age of five years curling sport. Their first big successes they celebrated in 1998 when she won the Junior Championship of Minnesota, and then took part in the World Championships for Juniors and finished fifth, led by Hope Schmitt. Four years later she became the Skip of their team 's international breakthrough. By the U.S. Junior Championships, she qualified her team for the World Cup 2002. Potter Here won the first gold medal of the juniors for the United States at all. The following year, she lost the final to Canada and became vice - world champion. In 2005, she led the women's team from the Bemidji Curling Club to the first national championship and the associated qualifying for the World Cup and the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin. At the World Championships she won second place and had to get in the finals defeated the Swedish team. After five defeats in their first six games Potter came in eighth place at the Olympic Winter Games at the end.
