The Cassidy International Airport ( IATA: CXI, ICAO: PLCH ) is one of two international airport in Kiribati Banana on the island of Kiritimati in the archipelago of the Line Islands.

Objectives and airlines

Since the previous international flights be operated Fijian airline Air Pacific has engaged the services of Kiritimati to Nadi in Fiji and Honolulu on September 2, 2008 due to the bad condition of the start and runways, the airport serves no scheduled flights abroad more. Because neither Air Kiribati or Coral Sun Airways have aircraft that would be able to fly between Kiritimati and the Gilbert Islands, where all other operational airports are Kiribati, there are no domestic flights to and from Kiritimati.

On March 30, 2010 Air Pacific has announced to resume regular daily flights to 25 May in 2010

The U.S. company Te Mauri Travel, operated by Maritime Air Charter, provides interim charter flights, especially from Honolulu to Kiritimati.
