Catherine Tasca

Catherine Tasca ( born December 13, 1941 in Lyon) is a French politician. Since 2004, she represents Yvelines in the Senate, the Vice President, she is since October 2008.

Life

Tasca was born as the youngest daughter Angelo Tasca 1941. Her mother was a city administrative employees. Her father left her in November 1944 in order to promote another woman as Catherine's mother. Tasca graduated in 1963 at the Institut d' études politiques national de Paris and received his doctorate in 1967 at the École d'administration.

Career

Tasca first worked in the cultural field. She began her career under André Malraux at Maisons de la Culture, before director which branch in Grenoble in 1973. 1977 transferred to the national institution for art distribution. From 1978 to 1982 she was Generalskräterin the Ensemble contemporain inter - Pierre Boulez; in the next four years, she worked as co- director with Patrice Chereau at the Théâtre des Amandiers in Nanterre. Political action

She was a member of the Parti Socialiste unifié before returning the Socialist Party joined. She is a member of the club Le Siècle.

In June 1997 she was elected to the National Assembly for the 11th constituency of Yvelines. Her deputy was Guy Malandain, the mayor of Trappes. From 2000 to 2002 she was Minister of Culture and Communication in the Cabinet Jospin.
